The Skorpion SCP1000 is a shaft speed switch engineered for applications where accurate speed indication is essential for safe and efficient equipment operation, particularly for alarm and shutdown functions. This model features a single relay setpoint and offers selectable under-speed or over-speed monitoring. Its setpoint ranges are 1-100 rpm and 10-1,000 rpm, with visual adjustment and digital accuracy for precise calibration. The switch incorporates a built-in 10-second start delay, with other options available, and is designed for failsafe operation. The housing is constructed from durable cast aluminum, meeting explosion-proof (XP) standards for hazardous locations, specifically Class I, Div I (C, D) and Class II, Div I (E, F, G). Digital circuitry ensures high accuracy, repeatability, and reliability, making it suitable for protecting various industrial equipment such as bucket elevators, fans, airlocks, and mixers. It is considered an industry standard for monitoring rotating shafts and preventing overspeed conditions. For testing and calibration, the SCP1000 is equipped with a portable test jack compatible with the optional PTU-1000 Test Unit. This unit allows for verification of shaft speed or simulation of unwanted conditions. Additionally, an optional mounting magnet (MM-2.00) is available for use with the EZ-SCP Mounting Bracket, eliminating the need for drilling or tapping during installation.
