SHIFT KIT Valve Body Repair Kit

The TransGo SK 42RLE-VLP SHIFT KIT® Valve Body Repair Kit is engineered to address common issues within the Chrysler 42RLE, 40TES, 41TES, and 604-VLP transmissions. This kit is specifically designed for vehicles equipped with the variable line pressure (VLP) solenoid and sensor, fitting 2006 and newer Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, and Jeep models. It is suitable for both FWD (604-VLP, 40TES, 41TES) and RWD (42RLE-VLP) applications from 2006-2017. The kit targets prevalent transmission complaints such as TCC slip or shudder, P0740 codes, overheating, delayed engagement (forward or reverse), and coast downshift clunks (4-3 and 2-1). It includes a USA-made, drop-in hardened steel pressure regulator valve and a redesigned TC regulator valve with extended lands. These components help restore hydraulic integrity and increase bore longevity by utilizing unworn areas of the valve body bores. Internal transmission issues are also addressed by the kit. It includes a non-shrinking low/reverse piston housing gasket to combat leaks caused by gasket shrinkage, a specially designed tuff seal and expander wire for the underdrive clutch piston to resolve 4-3 coast downshift clunks, and high-temperature accumulator piston seals and expander wires (for aluminum accumulator pistons only). Additionally, accumulator spacers are provided to expedite clutch release, leading to shorter and cleaner shifts.
