It is the second generation of House of Kolor's Shimrin Basecoat technology, which was first introduced in 1982. The recommended application is 2 to 3 medium coats with a 75 percent pattern overlap.

The House of Kolor S2-08-Q01 is an FX Karrier Series universal basecoat formulated for the Shimrin2 custom color system, presented here in Eclipse Orange. This liquid paint is packaged in a 1-quart can and is designed to be a foundational component for creating a wide array of custom automotive finishes. As part of the Shimrin2 system, this basecoat is intended to be combined with compatible S2-FX Effect Pacs and RU Series Kosmic reducers. This three-component approach allows painters to achieve distinct effects, including pure pigment-free finishes, KBC Kandy basecoats, and intricate tri-stage paint jobs. Shimrin2 represents the evolution of House of Kolor's established Shimrin Basecoat technology, first launched in 1982, offering enhanced performance and versatility.
