The CorkSport Short Ram Intake (SRI) & Turbo Inlet Pipe (TIP) Combo is a comprehensive performance upgrade system engineered for the 4th generation Mazda models equipped with the SkyActiv-G 2.5T engine. It achieves this by expanding the turbo inlet pipe's cross-sectional area from the OEM 2.5 inches to a larger 3 inches, facilitating a greater volume of air into the engine. A key design challenge addressed is the battery tie-down, which normally obstructs the factory turbo inlet pipe. CorkSport's solution involves increasing the internal height of the turbo inlet pipe and incorporating an indentation to clear the tie-down, allowing the 3-inch pipe to fit without requiring a modified battery setup. The MAF sensor housing is precision CNC machined from aluminum to ensure accurate measurement of incoming air for safe engine operation. CorkSport emphasizes smooth, non-turbulent airflow throughout the SRI and into the turbo inlet pipe. Even the silicone couplers are designed with a step to smooth airflow transitions, preventing turbulence. The TIP is manufactured using a rotomolding process from high-temp nylon, allowing for complex shapes that optimize space and provide an OEM-like finish. All necessary hardware, including an aluminum MAF bracket and stainless steel T-bolt clamps, is included for a straightforward installation.
