The Dieselgeek Sigma 6 Speed Short Shift Kit, featuring an all-new 3rd generation redesign for 2024, is engineered to significantly enhance the tactile experience of your vehicle's shifter. Recognizing that the shifter is a primary touchpoint, Dieselgeek has developed this kit using premium materials and meticulous craftsmanship to deliver a transformation in feel and driving engagement. In contrast to lesser shifters that employ stock Audi/VW rubber-insulated cable ends, the Sigma 6 minimizes play and flex. The side-to-side cable end is fortified with Dieselgeek's Perfect Pivot bushings. While the factory glass-reinforced composite cable end body is suitable for the lightly loaded side-to-side cable, the performance-modified stock cable end retains the slick adjustment function, making installation and readjustment straightforward. The Delrin Perfect Pivot inserts eliminate side-to-side flex, ensuring direct transfer of motion without losses. This meticulous engineering means the shifter mechanism feels less like a typical cable-operated shifter and more like a solid lever shifter from a high-performance rear-wheel-drive car, providing a light yet very positive action. A key innovation is the Dieselgeek Slider, which precisely mates the front-to-back assembly with the side-to-side bell crank for optimal gate selection. Unlike the large-tolerance, deteriorating plastic found in competing short shift kits, the Sigma 6 uses a precise, long-lasting, self-lubricating structural plastic that is guaranteed to last the life of your car, eliminating shifter degradation. The performance difference is noticeable from the first few shifts. Installation is designed as a DIY-friendly mod that can typically be completed within one hour, with all parts installed in the engine bay. The kit is compatible with VW Mk4, Mk5, Mk6, Mk7, and Audi 8J, 8P vehicles equipped with a manual transmission, specifically those with 02M, 02Q, or MQ350 transmissions. Specific fitment includes a wide range of Golf, GTI, Jetta, Passat, Eos, and Audi A3/TT models from various years. However, it does not fit 1.4 or 1.5 TSI turbo gas cars using the MQ250 transmission, nor does it fit the MQ500 transmission found in the TTRS or Tiguan. Vehicles produced before 2009 may require a different shifter cable end link (OEM part number 1J0711761B, 1J0711761C, or 5N0711761), an option available for purchase.
