Short Shift Kit

The DieselGeek DMK4SBK Sigma 5 Short Shift Kit aims to transform your driving experience by enhancing the tactile feedback from your shifter. The side-to-side cable end is upgraded with Delrin Perfect Pivot inserts, eliminating free play and ensuring motion is transferred without loss. The core of the kit is the Dieselgeek Slider, constructed from a durable, self-lubricating structural plastic. Unlike cheaper alternatives that use plastics prone to deterioration, the Slider maintains precise tolerances over time, preventing shifter degradation and ensuring consistent performance. This results in a shift mechanism that feels more like a solid lever from a high-performance car, offering a light yet very positive and precise feel. The kit offers an approximate 30% reduction in shift throws in both directions, which is the maximum achievable before overextending the shift cables. This kit is specifically designed for VW, Audi, Skoda, and Seat 5-speed vehicles equipped with chrome or silver shift weights. It does NOT fit early MK4 models (1998-1999 New Beetles and late 1999 GTI, Golf, Jetta) which have a black shift weight. For these early models, an alternative shifter is recommended. It also fits 02R equipped Audi A1 and VW Polo with the correct linkage. Owners of 2000-2001 models may need an OE VAG cable end from a 2002 or newer vehicle, or an aftermarket aluminum side-to-side cable end.
