Short Shifter

The Shark Racing Short Shifter is engineered for the 2017 and later Elantra and Elantra Sport models, offering a significant upgrade in shifting precision and feel. This shifter is meticulously CAD-designed and CNC machined to achieve a shift height that is about one inch lower than the stock configuration. Furthermore, it reduces the shift throw by 30%, resulting in quicker and more direct gear changes. A notable change with this short shifter is the modification of the reverse engagement mechanism. Vehicles with an original gear knob that requires pressing a button to shift into reverse will transition to a pull-up reverse lockout ring system. For these vehicles, it is mandatory to purchase the short shifter set bundled with one of Shark Racing's optional gear knobs, or source another aftermarket knob that accommodates the pull-up lockout ring. Using the original gear knob will not be possible in such cases. Conversely, if your vehicle's current gear knob already utilizes a pull-up lockout ring for reverse engagement, you can opt to purchase the shifter unit only. Your existing gear knob will be fully compatible with this short shifter. All components are manufactured in Korea, ensuring quality construction. Optional gear knobs are available for purchase. Gear knob #1 includes both red and black rings, allowing you to choose your preferred aesthetic. Gear knob #2 is also available.
