By delivering up to a 40% reduction in throw, it creates a more responsive driving experience suitable for both street and competition use. The unit features a stiff self-centering mechanism and an integrated gear lock-out function to prevent accidental mis-shifts during high-RPM operation, including a dedicated reverse gear lock-out. Crafted from aircraft-grade 7075 aluminum and 304-grade stainless steel for the base plate, this shifter is built to meet rigorous motorsport standards for rigidity and reliability. Each unit is CNC machined and hand-assembled in Europe, ensuring a high level of build quality. The design allows for a direct-fit installation that can be reversed to the stock setup if desired. Please note specific compatibility requirements for early production vehicles: to fit this shifter to pre-facelift MINI models manufactured up to 12/2003, you are required to upgrade to the MINI facelift shifter cables.
