Short Shifter Kit

The GenuineSaab Short Shifter NG900/9-3 94-02/9-5 is a precision-engineered upgrade designed to significantly enhance your driving experience by reducing shift throws and improving shifter accuracy. This kit replaces the stock plastic and spring components with a custom-designed spherical bearing, which offers superior angular movement to prevent binding at the extremes of travel. The result is a shorter, more precise gear change, with throws reduced from the factory 5 inches down to 3-3/8 inches. The shifter kit includes a new replacement shifter rod and bearing assembly, utilizing a spherical bearing for durability and smooth operation. The original knob, boot, and key functions, including the reverse lift-up, remain unchanged. For fine-tuning the fifth and reverse gear engagement, an adjustable guide plate is provided, allowing for quick and easy adjustments. To ensure long-term performance and durability, a grease fitting is accessible under the shift boot. This kit is compatible with right-hand drive (RHD) vehicles. It is recommended to be used with the Taliaferro transmission mount for the optimal shifting experience. Please note that modifying your shifter base is required for installation. This kit comes as a new replacement rod, eliminating the need for a core return.
