The Acuity Instruments Short Throw Adapter is engineered to enhance the driving experience in manual transmission 11th Gen Honda Civics and 5th Gen Acura Integras. This adapter affixes directly to the shifter mechanism, reducing the mechanical advantage to achieve a 20% shorter gear throw and minimize shifter cable play. The construction utilizes durable 300 series stainless steel for longevity and resistance to corrosion. Installation involves the use of included 7.5mm (0.3in) spacers to slightly raise the shifter height, preventing potential interference between the adapter and the cast aluminum bracket. Self-retaining washers and PTFE pivot caps are also included for a smooth, self-lubricating operation, and an alcohol wipe is provided for proper surface preparation. The unique clamping nut design ensures a secure and lasting installation. Owners can expect shifts to feel crisper and approximately 20% shorter. The adapter also reduces longitudinal play in the shifter's forward and backward motion. For an even more refined shifting experience, Acuity Instruments recommends pairing this adapter with their Shifter Base Bushings, Shifter Cable Bushings, Shifter Centering Spring Upgrade, and Shifter Rocker Upgrade. Fitment is specifically for the 2022+ 11th Gen Honda Civic (Base, Sport, Si, Type R trims, all manual transmissions) and the 2023+ 5th Gen Acura Integra (A-Spec and Type S trims, all manual transmissions).
