The Barton Industries Short Throw Shifter, paired with Barton's shifter bracket, is engineered to enhance the driving experience in 2011-2014 V6, GT, and Boss Mustangs. This shifter provides a significant 40% reduction in shift throw, leading to quicker and more precise gear changes. The dual-pivot trunnion design minimizes side-to-side play in neutral while maintaining the factory reverse lockout and back-up camera functionality. It also accepts factory shift knobs and preserves the original knob height. The included Barton shifter bracket further refines shifting performance by reducing deflection often caused by the factory bracket. Necessary tools for installation include a jack, 3/8 ratchet with extensions, various socket sizes, a half-inch wrench, and a flat-blade screwdriver or pry bar. The installation video suggests that the process can typically be completed within two hours.
