The MGW Short Throw Shifter is engineered for 2005-2010 Mustang GT and V6 models, offering a significant improvement in shifting experience. It incorporates a patented variable shift throw adjustment, enabling users to fine-tune their preferred shift reduction, from slightly shorter than stock to a reduction of nearly 50%. This feature, combined with state-of-the-art materials and design, ensures both a short throw and effortless shifting for all gears, eliminating the difficulty of finding reverse and fifth gear. Constructed from aircraft-grade aluminum with a hard coat anodized finish and aircraft-grade stainless steel components, this shifter is built for durability and a lifetime of service. It features robust return springs for precise engagement of third gear and strong lateral spring load to overcome the 3rd gear lockout issue common in the S197 Mustang's remote shifter design, allowing for hesitation-free powershifting. The kit includes sound and thermal deflection technology to maintain OEM sound levels and enhance heat insulation. Installation is facilitated by a provided video installation CD. Buyers have a choice between a handle with a 12 MM x 1.25 Fine Pitch thread (for stock OEM knobs and MGW Gripper/Composite Race knobs) or a 12 MM x 1.75 Coarse Pitch thread (for Classic RALLY/MGW logo balls or pre-2005 Mustang knobs). Please note that this shifter is specifically for 2005-2010 models and will not work on 2011 models.
