Overview

The MGW TR3650 is a short throw shifter designed for the TR-3650 transmission found in 2001 (late)-2004 Mustang GT, 2001 Cobra, 2001-2002 Bullitt, and 2003-2004 Mach 1 models. This shifter is constructed from aircraft-grade aluminum and stainless steel with a Teflon-impregnated hard-coat anodized finish for durability.

Featuring adjustable shifter stops and strong centering springs, this assembly helps eliminate third-gear lockout and reduces shift slop. It allows for 360-degree adjustability of the shift knob position and includes sound and thermal deflection technology.

The MGW TR3650 is a precision-engineered short throw shifter designed to replace the stock shifter assembly in 2001 (late)-2004 Mustang GT, 2001 Cobra, 2001-2002 Bullitt, and 2003-2004 Mach 1 vehicles equipped with the TR-3650 transmission. By replacing the entire OEM assembly with this unit, drivers can achieve shorter, more defined shifts while significantly reducing "in-gear" slop, vibration, and unwanted mechanical noise. Constructed from high-strength aircraft-grade aluminum and stainless steel, the shifter features a Class III Teflon-impregnated hard-coat anodized finish that resists galling and contamination. Key technical features include robust centering springs to aid in finding third gear during high-performance driving and fully adjustable internal shifter stops to prevent damage to internal shift forks. The design also incorporates sound and thermal deflection technology to maintain cabin comfort. The installation process is streamlined by the included shifter gaskets, which eliminate the need for traditional RTV silicone. The assembly is compatible with both factory and aftermarket shift knobs utilizing 12mm threads and comes with a choice of handle types including race, standard, or OEM height to suit individual ergonomic preferences. All necessary hardware for installation is included in the kit.
