The SR Performance short throw shifter addresses the sloppy, mushy shift feel found in the factory MT-82 manual transmission. By reducing throw distance by 25-30%, this component delivers faster, more precise gear changes while maintaining ergonomic comfort for daily driving. Manufactured from a combination of billet aluminum, steel, and composite materials, the unit is built for long-term durability. This shifter is engineered for 2011-2014 V6 and GT Mustangs equipped with the MT-82 6-speed manual transmission. It is not compatible with other transmission types or model years outside of this range. Installation requires light to moderate mechanical skill, typically taking about one hour. The assembly is designed to reuse the stock factory shift knob, or it can accommodate an aftermarket knob with a 12mm x 1.25 thread pattern.
