The JXB B8014A1 is an ultimate short throw shifter kit for Audi B8/B8.5 manual transmission models. This kit significantly reduces throw length, slop, and flex under load, while also eliminating missed 1-2 shifts.

It includes a billet shifter mounting plate designed to drastically reduce slop and prevent 1-2 shift lockout, along with a billet short shift clamp that shortens throw by 27%. An optional weighted short shift clamp adds 417g of mass, equivalent to 260g at the knob, for a more substantial feel.

The JXB Performance Ultimate Short Throw Shifter Kit (B8014A1) is engineered to address common issues found in factory shifter mechanisms, specifically the slop and flex caused by flimsy plastic mounting plates and soft rubber bushings. These OEM components can flex under load during aggressive shifting, leading to linkage binding and missed shifts, particularly between first and second gear. This kit replaces the stock components with precision-machined billet aluminum parts. The included Billet Shifter Mounting Plate eliminates flex and provides a solid connection to the vehicle's chassis, resulting in a more positive and direct shifter feel. The Billet Short Shift Clamp reduces throw length by 27%, offering quicker gear changes. For an even more refined feel, an optional weighted clamp can be added, which increases mass at the shifter base to mimic a heavier shift knob without the added weight at the lever itself. The kit is compatible with all manual transmission Audi B8/B8.5 models, including the A4/S4 and A5/S5.
