The CorkSport Mazdaspeed 6 Short Shift Plate is engineered to enhance the driving experience by reducing shifter throw and improving precision. This component modifies the shifter's geometry at the end, resulting in a more direct and engaging feel for spirited driving, with an approximate 33% reduction in throw. Unlike some other shift plates that mount at the transmission end, the CorkSport design installs at the shifter end. This unique placement prevents potential binding or rubbing issues with the shift cables, which can occur with transmission-mounted shifters. It also allows for easy interchangeability between the factory shifter and the short shift plate. The installation is straightforward, with the plate bolting directly to the car, eliminating the need for an aftermarket or factory counterweight. Specifically designed for the Mazdaspeed 6, this short shift plate addresses common shifter feel issues, particularly in first and second gears, by altering the geometry at the shifter end.
