The Doug Thorley THY-508-C is a shortie header kit engineered for the 2000-2004 Toyota Tundra equipped with the 4.7L V8 engine. Constructed from durable 14-gauge tubing and finished with a ceramic coating, these headers are designed to optimize exhaust flow. These headers were a popular option for the first-generation Tundra, offering enhanced performance and potentially improved gas mileage. While Doug Thorley has ceased production of these specific headers for the 1st gen 4.7 Tundra, some remaining stock may still be found. The design is described as a mid-length tube design. It is important to note that the installation of performance headers may lead to certain side effects, such as the potential for triggering check engine lights if O2 sensor simulators are not used. Users have reported increased fuel consumption and running-rich conditions, which can have their own series of negative impacts.
