Shorty Headers, 1-5/8" Tubes

The TTi Performance Exhaust & Headers 34025 shorty headers are engineered for lowered vehicles prioritizing ground clearance over full-length headers. Constructed from 16-gauge mild steel, these headers feature 1-5/8" O.D. tubes and 2.5" collectors. The 3/8" thick flanges are laser-cut and contoured for a leak-free fit, while the under-chassis design and placement above the steering center link maximize ground clearance. TTi's mandrel-bending process ensures a consistent internal diameter for optimal exhaust flow without restrictions or crimping. However, due to the variety of aftermarket parts, engine configurations, and suspension setups, TTi cannot guarantee fitment for all combinations. Slight modifications or repositioning may be necessary in some cases. The product is recommended for use with engines up to 450 HP and is compatible with OEM and several aftermarket cylinder heads, including Edelbrock Performer RPM, Indy T/A, Mopar Perf Alum LA, Mopar Cast-Iron, and RHS-Indy360X. Installation requires careful consideration of the vehicle's specific setup. The headers are designed for A-Body (67-76), B-Body (62-79), and E-Body (70-74) chassis. They are compatible with OEM or equivalent front suspensions with torsion bars, as well as certain coilover systems without torsion bars. Steering linkage compatibility includes OEM with torsion bars or Rack & Pinion without torsion bars. For 67-76 A-bodies, specific aftermarket steering arms may not clear; dimpling the header tubes can achieve clearance but voids the warranty. Automatic transmissions are supported, though some floor shifter applications may need minor adjustments. Manual transmissions are also supported, but applications with an 11" flywheel require a specific starter. Column shift applications, particularly on A-bodies (67-73) and B/E-bodies (71-74/70-74), may require a TTi modified Torque Shaft Assembly to clear the headers or adapter pipes. Adapter pipes, required to transition the headers to an exhaust system, are sold separately. The headers themselves include header gaskets, 12 header bolts, and header reducer adapters. Various coating options are available, including raw mild steel, ceramic coated (silver satin), and polished ceramic coated with a thermal barrier interior that can reduce under-hood temperatures by approximately 50°F.
