The compact fin construction, combined with specially designed core end plates and plastic tanks, minimizes mechanical stress and ensures a durable product. The reinforced plastic tanks are enriched with fiberglass and contain no recycled plastics, contributing to a longer lifespan. Side panels are designed with cuts to reduce the influence of thermal expansion on the core structure, and the inlets and outlets are strengthened for reliability. This intercooler's primary purpose is to cool the compressed air from the turbocharger before it enters the engine's intake manifold. By reducing air temperature, it increases air density, allowing for more oxygen in the combustion chamber, which leads to improved engine performance and efficiency. It also helps protect the engine by reducing the risk of knocking and excessive thermal stress. Fitment is specific to Mk4 Volkswagen Golf/GTI and Jetta models equipped with the 1.8T or 1.9L TDi engines, with specific production date and VIN cutoffs applying. Vehicles include the Golf/GTI Mk4 (1999.5-2005) with 337/20th, GTI, or Golf TDi submodels, and Mk4 (1999.5-2005) models with 1.8T, TDi, or GLI 1.8T (04.5-05) engines.
