Sigma 6 Short Shift Kit

The Diesel Geek Sigma 6 Short Shift Kit is engineered to significantly improve the tactile feedback and precision of your vehicle's manual transmission shifter. It replaces stock components, which often have rubber damping and large tolerances, with performance-oriented parts for a more direct and engaging driving experience. Further enhancing the shifter's feel, the side-to-side cable end is upgraded with Dieselgeek's Perfect Pivot bushings. A key component is the Dieselgeek Slider, made from a self-lubricating structural plastic, which precisely mates the cable assemblies and controls gate selection. This material is chosen for its durability and resistance to wear, preventing the degradation and loss of precision common in other aftermarket shifters. Installation is presented as a manageable do-it-yourself task, typically completable within an hour, with all parts installed top-side in the engine bay. The performance difference is said to be noticeable from the first few shifts. This shifter kit is designed to fit a wide range of Volkswagen and Audi models, including various Golf, GTI, Jetta, Passat, Eos, and A3/TT variants, primarily those with 6-speed manual transmissions. It specifically does not fit 1.4 or 1.5 TSI turbo gas cars, models with the MQ500 transmission (found in TTRS or Tiguan), or Polo/A1/Ibiza/Fabia variants with the MQ350 transmission. For 2000-2001 models, a specific OE VAG cable end from newer cars may be required, or an aftermarket aluminum side-to-side cable end offered by Dieselgeek. It's recommended to check shifter bushings for wear, especially on older Mk4 vehicles, before installation.
