Sigma 6 Short Shift Kit

The Dieselgeek Sigma 6 short shift kit is engineered to significantly enhance the tactile feedback of your vehicle's manual transmission. For the side-to-side cable end, the kit utilizes reinforced bushings and a modified stock cable end body, fitted with Delrin Perfect Pivot inserts. These inserts ensure rotation without side-to-side flex, transferring motion precisely and eliminating the free play common in OEM parts. The Sigma 6 shifter incorporates the Dieselgeek Slider, a component made from a self-lubricating structural plastic. This slider mates the front-to-back assembly with the side-to-side bell crank, controlling gate selection. Installation is designed as a do-it-yourself task that can typically be completed within an hour, with all components installed top-side in the engine bay. The kit is compatible with a wide range of Volkswagen and Audi models equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, including various Golf, GTI, Jetta, Passat, Eos, and Audi A3/S3/TT variants from specified model years. However, it does not fit 1.4 or 1.5 TSI turbo gas cars, MQ500 transmissions (found in TTRS or Tiguan), or certain Polo/A1/Ibiza/Fabia variants with MQ350 transmissions. Additionally, owners of 2000-2001 model year vehicles may need to acquire a specific OE VAG cable end from 2002 and newer cars, or use an available aftermarket aluminum alternative, to ensure proper installation and function.
