The REDOX E39-V8 is a high-performance silicone hose kit engineered for BMW E39 5 Series models featuring V8 M62 engines, including the 535i and 540i. Constructed from durable 4-ply polyester-reinforced VMQ silicone, these hoses are built to withstand extreme temperatures ranging from -58°F to 428°F and a rated pressure of 58 PSI. The material offers a significantly longer lifespan, typically 15 years or more, compared to the 5-7 year lifespan of standard OEM rubber hoses. These REDOX hoses offer several technical advantages over original rubber components. They provide improved flexibility retention at extreme temperatures, eliminate the risk of cracking in bend areas, and contribute to better engine heat dissipation. This enhanced durability and thermal stability are particularly beneficial for the V8 M62 engine, which is known for generating excessive heat. Specific kits are available for models with Webasto auxiliary heaters (E39-WEBASTO) and for Touring models with rear heating (E39-REAR), though these may be sold separately. Minimal coolant loss is expected (7-10 fl oz). The system capacity for the E39 V8 engines is between 1.8 to 2.6 gallons. REDOX silicone hoses meet SAE J20, DIN 73411, and ISO 4081 standards, ensuring they are MOT/road legal in the UK and Europe without requiring special registration.
