The stock fresh air pipe is corrugated and undersized, creating restrictions that negatively impact spool-up time and lead to hotter intake temperatures, especially when running higher boost levels. This one-piece, 7-layer silicone hose addresses these issues by providing a larger diameter and a smoother flow path. Constructed with a 7-layer silicone design, this inlet hose features an impregnated wire reinforcement running its entire length. This pioneering feature in the Volvo market ensures superior resistance to collapsing under extreme vacuum and boost pressures. The larger diameter and absence of unions minimize turbulence, contributing to a more efficient intake system. Furthermore, this turbo inlet system includes an extended 1.0” boss, providing an option for customers who wish to install an external compressor bypass. This feature helps to overcome the inherent design flaws of the factory CBV. For those not immediately installing an external bypass, a supplied aluminum plug can be used to seal the boss, allowing for the hose to be trimmed as needed.
