The Accufab CTB03-04 is a high-performance single blade throttle body engineered specifically for the 2003-2004 Ford Mustang Cobra equipped with the 4.6L engine. It replaces the restrictive stock twin-blade design to significantly improve airflow, boasting a flow rate of 1696 cfm, which is considerably higher than the stock 1089 cfm. Constructed from durable 6061-T6 billet aluminum, this throttle body features precision-machined stainless steel shafts, brass blades, and top-tier bushings and bearings for longevity and smooth operation. It is available in either a polished finish or a sleek black anodized coating, offering both aesthetic appeal and enhanced durability. The design incorporates a specifically machined air passage slot that aligns with a corresponding slot on the inlet, ensuring proper functionality for the idle air control system. Accufab notes that while this throttle body significantly enhances airflow on its own, it is not recommended for use with the stock inlet due to clearance limitations for the single blade. For optimal performance, it is best paired with a compatible aftermarket inlet, especially when used with superchargers like KenneBell or Whipple that feature a mono-blade opening. This performance-oriented product is intended for off-road and racing applications.
