Single Mass Flywheel Conversion Kit

The Valeo Single Mass Flywheel Conversion Kit offers a robust solution for replacing the often problematic dual mass flywheels found in specific BMW 5-speed transmissions. This comprehensive kit replaces the complex dual mass damper system with a solid steel flywheel, similar to older BMW designs, and a specially engineered clutch assembly that incorporates the dampening system into the clutch disc. This design reduces complexity and cost while still absorbing driveline vibrations. The kit includes a single mass flywheel, clutch kit (disc, pressure plate, throw out bearing), pressure plate bolts, flywheel bolts, and an alignment tool. The flywheel itself weighs 24lbs, and the total assembly is under 40lbs, comparable to the stock unit. This conversion utilizes a 240mm clutch disc, an upgrade over the 228mm disc found in some models. IMPORTANT Fitment notes: This kit is specifically for E46 325i/330i models with 5-speed transmissions produced up to August 2003. Cars manufactured from September 2003 onwards have a 22-spline input shaft and are NOT compatible with this kit. It is also not designed for 6-speed or SMG transmissions. The kit is compatible with BMW 3 Series E46 (1999-2005) including 323i/Ci, 325i/Ci/xi, 328i/Ci, and 330i/xi; 5 Series E39 (1997-2003) including 525i, 528i (1999-2000), and 530i; and Z Series E36/7 / E36/8 Z3 (1996-2002) including Z3 2.3, 2.5, 2.8 (1999-2000), and 3.0. While eliminating the dual mass flywheel, owners may notice increased transmission rattle, which can be more noticeable than with the original dual mass unit.
