Single Turbo System Kit

The On3 Performance (1998-2002) Camaro / Trans-Am Single Turbo System Kit is a comprehensive turbocharger solution engineered for F-Body LSx vehicles, specifically designed to retain the air conditioning system. This kit features a unique, proprietary passenger-side cast On 3 Performance V-banded manifold and a driver-side manifold that retains the original 3-bolt mounting flange. Everything needed for the hotside is included, from the manifolds to the turbocharger. A 2.5" stainless steel Y-pipe connects the manifolds to a high-flow merge, keeping the radiator in its stock location. The standard turbocharger offered is a 70mm unit, which has been tested and proven reliable in daily driving applications and can support approximately 6-650 rear-wheel horsepower. For those seeking higher power outputs, On3 Performance offers a range of turbocharger upgrades from 76mm to 84mm, with options for Billet compressor wheels and ceramic ball bearings. The system includes a 3-piece downpipe designed to route all the way back to the stock cat-back exhaust, allowing for a more manageable exhaust note. However, it can easily be run as an open downpipe. For the cold side, the kit features a 2.5" aluminum charge pipe feeding a 3" crossflow On 3 Performance bar and plate intercooler. Optional 4" and 5" intercoolers are available for higher boost levels or built engines. Silicone couplers and t-bolt clamps ensure secure connections, while bead-rolled piping prevents blow-offs under boost. The intercooler piping is constructed from 6061 aluminum for heat dissipation and weight reduction. This kit is designed without a MAF provision, assuming most builds will utilize speed density tuning. If MAF operation is desired, custom adaptation will be necessary. The turbo is mounted higher than the oil pan, but the drain has a near-horizontal transition, which can lead to oil backup in the turbo. To mitigate this risk and prevent potential turbo damage from oil seeping into the exhaust or compressor wheel, On3 Performance recommends purchasing their optional oil scavenge pump. This pump assists with oil drainage and allows for an alternative oil return tap into the oil filler cap, avoiding the need to drill and tap the oil pan.
