Overview

The Eagle Specialty Products SIR connecting rod is an I-Beam connecting rod measuring 6.000 inches in length. Constructed from forged 5140 steel, it features a shot-peened surface for improved fatigue strength and ARP 8740 capscrew rod bolts for reliability.

These rods are recommended for naturally-aspirated, pump gas, road car use and are considered an upgrade from OE rods. They are CNC machined for consistent sizing and have high stress areas reinforced. The connecting rod is sold individually.

Measuring 6.000 inches in length, this rod is forged from AISI/ASME certified 5140 steel with a multi-stage heat treatment to enhance strength. It features a traditional I-Beam design with an as-forged surface and a fully shot-peened finish to improve fatigue strength. For reliable performance, it is equipped with ARP 8740 capscrew rod bolts and includes ARP Ultra-Torque Assembly lube for consistent bolt preload. This connecting rod is designed as an upgrade from Original Equipment (OE) rods and is recommended for naturally-aspirated, pump gas, road car applications. The big-end is CNC machined to ensure consistent sizing, and high-stress areas are reinforced for durability. A silicon-bronze pin bushing is incorporated to accommodate full-floating piston pins, and an oiling hole at the pin end is included to improve lubrication. Each rod is sold individually.
