The BBR SkyActiv Camshaft Set is a performance valvetrain upgrade designed as a direct replacement for standard Mazda camshafts. These camshafts feature unique lift and timing specifications developed by BBR and manufactured by a European high-performance valvetrain specialist.

The set includes steel billet inlet and exhaust camshafts, along with bespoke valve springs and retainers. The maximum valve lift is 10.75mm for the inlet and 9.75mm for the exhaust. These camshafts allow for the full range of mechanical camshaft (VVT) operation while maintaining a safe valve-to-piston clearance of 1.5mm.

These camshaft profiles are the result of extensive development and are manufactured by a leading European high-performance valvetrain specialist. They are designed as a direct replacement for the standard Mazda camshafts. This set includes steel billet inlet and exhaust camshafts, alongside custom-manufactured conical valve springs. The camshafts offer maximum valve lift of 10.75mm on the inlet and 9.75mm on the exhaust. They are designed to utilize the full range of the mechanical camshaft (VVT) while ensuring a safe valve-to-piston clearance of 1.5mm, compared to the standard 1.6mm. With a suitable ECU remap and no other modifications, the BBR SkyActiv camshaft profiles can deliver strong performance gains from 3000 rpm upwards. For the MX-5 ND, a peak power output of 195BHP is achievable. The package includes the replacement steel billet camshafts, bespoke valve springs, and retainers.
