Softride springs are made with American steel. The individual leafs are shot-peened with hard steel pellets at high velocities, which compresses the surface of the steel, increasing its tensile strength. This process allows for maximum wheel travel and ride quality without sacrificing the spring's life. Softride springs use bolt-style spring clips, which eliminate friction, unlike other designs that use "C"-style bend clips that cause binding and friction. The springs taper over their entire length, creating more flex at the leaf ends, distributing loads more evenly, and reducing the tendency for one leaf to dig into the leaf above it.
