The KSport Slimline Big Brake Kit is engineered to enhance braking performance for the 2005-2007 Subaru Impreza STI, particularly for vehicles running aggressive wheel fitments. This kit addresses the common issue where large aftermarket calipers do not fit within the tight clearances of modern wheels. Ksport developed the Slimline Caliper specifically to offer a big brake solution that maintains a caliper thickness similar to OEM single-side piston calipers, ensuring compatibility with most factory or tightly-cleared aftermarket wheels. This kit includes forged aluminum 6-piston calipers in an orange finish, paired with 330mm (13-inch) diameter, 2-piece slotted and vented rotors constructed from cast iron. The 2-piece rotor design features an aluminum center to reduce rotational mass and allow for less restricted expansion and contraction, mitigating the risk of warping. The larger brake pad surface area compared to OEM pads significantly boosts braking power, while the slotted rotors contribute to quicker response and shorter stopping distances. Stainless steel brake lines are included to prevent hose expansion under heat and pressure, leading to a firmer and more responsive pedal feel. The kit is intended for performance and racing driving styles. A minimum wheel diameter of 17 inches is required, and the rotors are designed with a fixed hat construction.
