The Ksport Slimline Big Brake Kit is engineered to enhance braking performance for the 2002-2004 Subaru Impreza STI, particularly for enthusiasts running aggressive wheel fitments. This kit addresses the common issue of aftermarket big brake kits not fitting within the limited clearance of factory or aftermarket wheels with tight spacing. Ksport developed the Slimline Caliper with a design based on OEM single-piston caliper thickness, ensuring compatibility with a wider range of wheels. The caliper itself is forged aluminum, offering a larger brake pad surface area compared to OEM pads, which directly translates to improved stopping power. The braking system features 304mm (12-inch) 2-piece slotted and vented rotors constructed from cast iron. These rotors utilize an aluminum center, reducing rotational mass for quicker response and shorter stopping distances. The 2-piece design also significantly minimizes the risk of rotor warpage by allowing for more unrestricted expansion and contraction of the outer iron section, even under high temperatures and pressures. Stainless steel brake lines are included to prevent expansion, ensuring faster pedal response. This kit is specifically designed for performance and racing driving styles and requires a minimum wheel diameter of 16 inches.
