The Ksport Slimline Front Big Brake Kit is engineered for the BMW E89 Z4, offering a significant upgrade in braking performance. At the core of this kit are Ksport's lightweight, forged one-piece aluminum calipers. Unlike cast or welded calipers, this monolithic construction provides superior strength and even thickness distribution, preventing common failure points like fracturing and warpage. These calipers house aluminum pistons protected by heavy-duty seals capable of withstanding extreme temperatures, ensuring smooth operation and preventing corrosion. The opposed-piston design guarantees consistent brake pad wear on both sides of the rotor, while standard features like high-temperature seals, titanium retainer clips, and stainless-steel wear plates enhance durability. The two-piece rotor design contributes to reduced weight and improved fade-free performance, making it suitable for both track use and daily driving. The lightweight 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum center sections lower rotational mass for quicker response and enhanced braking precision. This design also allows the rotor sections to expand and contract independently, minimizing warping from heat buildup. Ksport offers both Cross Drilled rotors, recommended for daily drivers as they run cooler, and Slotted Rotors, for vehicles experiencing more track time, which help to dissipate heat, dust, and gases effectively. This specific kit includes SC5 Street Pads, providing optimal performance in street and occasional track conditions with reduced dust and noise. An upgrade to RCI Race Pads is available for those seeking maximum stopping power under extreme track conditions. The kit also features D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines that reduce pedal flex for a firmer, more responsive pedal feel.
