Slimline Front Big Brake Kit

The Ksport Slimline Front Big Brake Kit is engineered to significantly upgrade the braking performance of your Volvo S40. It comes complete with everything needed for installation, including forged monoblock aluminum calipers, floating brake discs, and street pads. The kit features a lightweight, one-piece forged caliper constructed from aerospace-quality aluminum, ensuring strength and eliminating weak spots. Corrosion resistance is also enhanced by the aluminum construction, and titanium brake pad retainer clips and stainless-steel wear plates are standard. The two-piece rotor design contributes to a lightweight system, offering fade-free performance and effective grip suitable for both racetrack and normal driving conditions. The lightweight center sections are crafted from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, reducing rotational mass for improved brake response. This design also allows the outer rotor section to expand and contract independently, reducing warping caused by heat. Ksport recommends cross-drilled rotors for daily-driven vehicles as they run cooler than slotted rotors, though both types offer increased bite and help maintain a clean pad surface. For vehicles seeing more track time, slotted rotors are recommended for their heat dissipation capabilities. This specific kit includes SC5 Street Pads, which offer optimal braking performance under street and occasional track conditions, with reduced dust and noise compared to race pads. An upgrade to RCI Race Pads is available for extreme track conditions. The kit also features D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines, which prevent expansion under pressure for quicker pedal response and a firmer feel.
