The Ksport Slimline Front Big Brake Kit (BKVW240-342CO) is a performance brake upgrade engineered for the Volkswagen MK1 Golf. It includes Ksport's specially developed Slimline Caliper, which is based on OEM single-side floating piston caliper thickness, ensuring better wheel fitment compatibility. The system comes complete with calipers, floating brake discs, brake pads (SC5 Street Pads standard), and all necessary hardware for a comprehensive upgrade. Constructed from aerospace-quality aluminum, the lightweight forged one-piece caliper offers superior strength and even thickness to prevent fracturing and warpage. It features aluminum pistons with heavy-duty seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel wear plates, along with an opposed-piston design for consistent brake pad grip and wear. Cross-drilled rotors are recommended for daily driven vehicles as they run cooler than slotted rotors, which are suggested for more track-focused use. All rotors are heat-treated and balanced for optimal performance. This big brake system also includes D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines, which enhance pedal response and feel by eliminating hose expansion under pressure. The standard SC5 Street Pads provide optimal performance for street and occasional track use with reduced dust and noise. An upgrade to RCI Race Pads is available for extreme track conditions. Various caliper color options are offered, including standard painted colors and premium high-polish or custom finishes for personalization.
