The Ksport Slimline Big Brake Kit is a high-performance braking system designed for the Volkswagen MK3 Golf with a 4x100 bolt pattern, featuring 304x22mm rotors. This kit offers a sophisticated, bolt-on upgrade that is easy to install with minimal tools and generally requires no vehicle modifications. The calipers are constructed from a lightweight, forged one-piece aerospace-grade aluminum for superior strength and even thickness, eliminating weak spots. These calipers feature opposed-piston designs for consistent brake pad grip and wear, and are equipped with high-temperature seals, titanium retainer clips, and stainless-steel wear plates. The 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum center sections reduce rotational mass and improve brake response. This design also minimizes rotor warping due to heat buildup, and the aluminum effectively dissipates heat. Cross-drilled rotors are recommended for daily driven vehicles as they run cooler, while slotted rotors are recommended for track use due to their ability to wipe away heat, dust, and gases. Kits come standard with SC5 Street Pads, which offer optimal braking performance under street and occasional track conditions with reduced dust and noise. An upgrade to RCI Race Pads is available for extreme track conditions. The kit also includes D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines, which prevent hose expansion under pressure for a quicker pedal response and a firmer pedal feel. Carbon steel caliper brackets are included to ensure proper fitment to the OEM caliper bracket location. Customization options for caliper color and center bell upgrades are available.
