The Mad Hornets E1840P camshaft kit is engineered for a performance upgrade on Chevy LS engines, specifically the 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, and 6.2L models manufactured between 1997 and 2007. This kit features the popular "Sloppy Stage 2" camshaft grind, offering a .585"/.585" lift and a power band from 2,200 to 6,500 RPM, with peak torque in the 3,000-4,500 RPM range. This includes LS7 style lifters for robust valvetrain operation, and .625" beehive springs that provide the necessary support for the camshaft's lift profile. The kit also features a durable billet timing set for accurate camshaft phasing and hardened chromoly pushrods to withstand increased valvetrain stress. This camshaft is known for producing a rough idle, indicative of its aggressive performance tuning. For automatic transmissions, a stall converter in the 2,600-2,800 RPM range is recommended to best utilize the camshaft's powerband. Professional installation and tuning are advised to ensure proper function and maximize performance gains.
