These lifters feature a link bar design, eliminating the need for plastic lifter trays. They offer .093" total plunger travel and a recommended preload of .035" +-.005". The set is recommended for applications with up to .700" lift and a maximum of 420# open spring pressure.

The Johnson Lifters JHN-2116LSR is a set of 16 slow leak down, race-style hydraulic roller lifters engineered for LS engines that do not utilize DOD/AFM systems. These lifters incorporate a link bar design, which mechanically connects pairs of lifters to ensure proper orientation in the bore and stable roller alignment on the camshaft lobe, even under high spring pressures and aggressive camshaft profiles. This design eliminates the need for OEM plastic lifter trays. Constructed with cold-forged steel bodies and heat treatment for exceptional wear resistance, these lifters feature a precision leakdown hydraulic piston with controlled pump-up behavior. They offer .093" of total plunger travel and a recommended preload range of .035" to .045". The set is suitable for applications with camshaft lifts up to .700" and a maximum of 420# open spring pressure. A high-flow, quick-reacting disc-style check valve enhances hydraulic response at elevated engine speeds, and precision oil metering ensures proper lubrication to the rocker arms without excessive loss from the lifter circuit. Proper installation requires verifying lifter-to-bore clearance, especially in aftermarket blocks that may have tighter tolerances. Ensuring correct preload, spring pressure, and overall valvetrain geometry is crucial for optimal hydraulic function and durability.
