The Muncie 465452 is a bare 4-speed transmission case for GM SM465 applications starting in 1979. This case features a 2.250" bore hole for the front countershaft bearing and a 1.400" ID for the front countershaft bearing itself. It is noted that cases from 1978 and earlier used a different bearing ID and bore size. This is a usable, empty SM465 case that is the same for both 2WD and 4x4 configurations.

The Muncie 465452 is a bare, four-speed transmission case designed as a replacement part for GM SM465 transmissions manufactured from 1979 onwards. This case is identified by GM part number 465452 and is suitable for both 2WD and 4x4 applications. Key specifications for this case include a case bore hole measuring 2.250 inches, which accommodates the front countershaft bearing. The front countershaft bearing itself has an inner diameter of 1.400 inches. It is important to note the distinction from earlier cases (1978 and prior), which utilized a larger 2.440" bearing ID and a corresponding larger bore in the case, along with a 1.338" front ID bearing for the countershaft. This offering is for a clean, usable, empty SM465 case. While some cleaning has been performed, further cleaning may be required before assembly to ensure optimal performance. This transmission case is a direct replacement for models fitting the 1979+ GM SM465 application.
