Small Battery Tie-Down Kit

The STM 680 small battery kit is designed for the 2015-2021 Subaru WRX and STi, enabling the use of a smaller, lighter battery to shed 18 pounds and improve the vehicle's center of gravity. This kit fits directly into the stock battery location and installs in minutes using the provided tie-down hardware, which includes a non-slip pad to keep the battery secure and reduce shock. The kit is available with or without an Odyssey PC680 battery and terminals. Installation requires torquing battery posts to 50 inch-pounds; over-torquing can damage the battery. The battery should be laid flat with terminals on the highest side. A CTEK MXS Battery Charger is recommended. It will not support aftermarket stereos and is not ideal in cold temperatures. The batteries used are not intended for general automotive use, but are popular in the racing community. While the battery will start the car with a functioning alternator, ignition issues may limit starting attempts to 10-15 before fading if fully charged.
