The Doug's D353-B full-length headers are engineered to deliver maximum power gains for 1955-1957 Chevrolet passenger cars and wagons equipped with small block V8 engines (265-283 cubic inches). The construction features CNC mandrel-bent tubes for precise fitment and improved exhaust flow, along with thick 3/8-inch machined flanges to prevent warping. Constructed from durable 16-gauge steel, these headers boast a 1.75-inch primary tubing diameter and a 3-inch collector port diameter. They come with a Hi-Temp Black Coating, providing a matte finish that offers a classic look and reliable protection against rust and corrosion without the added cost of specialty coatings. Gaskets and mounting hardware are included for a more straightforward installation. It is important to note specific fitment details for these headers. They are designed to fit most angle plug heads and D-Port cylinder heads, including the ZZ4 crate engine. However, they will NOT fit GM Fast Burn head PN 19300955 or SP350, SP383 & ZZ6 engines. Installation may require the removal of original bellhousing frame mounts. The headers are designed to work with specific V-8 pitman arms and certain motor mount kits; aftermarket pitman arms must match the OE configuration for proper fit. Furthermore, these headers do not fit with Powerglide transmissions or with column shift manual transmissions.
