The Escort Direct Wire SmartCord offers a cleaner and more permanent power solution for your compatible Escort windshield radar detector. This hardwire kit bypasses the need for your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket, providing a direct connection to your car's electrical system. The SmartPlug module features a blue power-on indicator, an amber alert lamp to visually notify you of radar or laser detection, and a convenient mute button for silencing alerts. The module can be easily mounted in a desired location using the included hook and loop fastener. With a 47-inch power input cable (including an in-line 2-amp fuse) and a 47-inch ground cable, the SmartCord provides ample length for a tidy installation. The connection to your radar detector is made via a 10-foot RJ-11 signal cable, allowing for flexible placement of the detector itself. This SmartCord is compatible with specific Escort models, including the Passport 9500ix, 9500i, 8500 X50, 8500, 7500S, 7500, 6800, Escort C65, and Solo S2.
