The 3SX SMIC Side Mount Intercooler Kit is engineered to enhance the performance of your 3000GT or Stealth. This comprehensive kit replaces the stock intercooler cores and piping with larger, more efficient components. The 3SX intercooler cores offer 205% more volume than the factory units (288 C.I. vs. 140 C.I.) and feature larger 2-inch inlets and outlets compared to the stock 1.6-inch. The accompanying piping consists of 2-inch mandrel-bent aluminum tubes, an upgrade from the stock 1.6-inch rubber hoses, designed to improve airflow. A key benefit of this kit is its compatibility with the factory air conditioning system, meaning you do not need to modify or remove your AC to install it. The intercoolers are designed to fit in the original locations, and the kit includes all necessary parts for installation, such as intercooler cores, 12 pipes, 15 silicone hoses and couplers, and 30 clamps. Additionally, the stock oil cooler can be retained by pulling it closer to the wheel to clear the new piping, although a front mount oil cooler is recommended for easier installation. This kit is designed specifically for the 3000GT and Stealth models, ensuring a proper fit. Minor modifications may be needed for a flush fitment on RHD (Right-Hand Drive) 3000GTs. Some installations may involve removing the tow hook support if the driver's side intercooler causes interference. The 3SX SMIC kit sits below the bumper line.
