SoCal V4 Turbocharger

The SoCal V4 turbocharger is a high-performance upgrade designed for the 2015+ Subaru WRX MGT2259. It utilizes a 52-72mm billet compressor wheel created with a 5-axis point-milling process, featuring a 10-blade swept-blade design that minimizes drag while maximizing airflow. The assembly retains the original Garrett turbo housing to ensure factory-style fitment, though each unit is bored, machined, and fully ported to remove casting restrictions and improve boost control. Key technical enhancements include a larger-than-stock turbine shaft with a 10-degree back cut, which shifts the power band higher into the RPM range for increased performance. This configuration allows for higher LB/MIN at similar pressure ratios without sacrificing significant spool time. Every upgrade includes a full rebuild, turbine shaft and wheel replacement, recontouring, clipping, and complete port and polish services. Installation requires attention to the wastegate actuator; the factory unit and 7psi actuators are not recommended for high-boost applications as they may restrict potential. A high-pressure wastegate actuator, such as a 14psi TurboSmart unit, is suggested for optimal performance. Please note that achieving the 500+ WHP potential requires appropriate fuel and tuning support, such as the use of E85 or ethanol blends.
