The Kicker 49L7X122 SoloX L7X is a 12-inch competition subwoofer engineered with KICKER's advanced bass technology and extreme power handling capabilities. It features a robust construction including a cast-aluminum basket, a triple-stacked ferrite magnet, and a double-pressed pulp cone paired with a heavy-duty UV-resistant Santoprene surround. The subwoofer utilizes Forced Air Cooling™ to manage heat effectively during high-demand operation. This 2-ohm dual voice coil (DVC) subwoofer is designed for significant output, accepting a recommended amplifier power range of 1000-2000 watts RMS. Key features contributing to its performance include a 3-inch aluminum voice coil former, a dual-spider suspension system for enhanced stability, and an extended Xmax of 1.25 inches for deep bass reproduction. The frequency response is rated from 20-100 Hz. Installation considerations include a mounting depth of 10-1/8 inches and a cutout diameter of 11-1/16 inches. The recommended vented box volume is 3 cubic feet with a port tuning frequency of 31 Hz. This model also features a field-replaceable recone kit, meaning the cone, voice coil, and spider assembly can be replaced without requiring glue. The product comes with a one-year warranty when purchased from an authorized Kicker dealer or kicker.com. Kicker notes that performance estimates assume typical music program with minimal amplifier clipping and vary with enclosure size.
