South Bend Clutches are developed to perfectly complement engine modifications, offering a balance of performance, reliability, and drivability. Each clutch system is matched to specific driving styles, uses, and power levels, recognizing that a one-size-fits-all approach does not meet the needs of every driver. The available configurations include Daily, Endurance, and Drag. The Daily configuration focuses on OEM pedal feel and engagement characteristics, providing ease of use for everyday driving. The Endurance configuration emphasizes reduced transmission wear and smooth gear transitions, utilizing materials like Kevlar for durability under stress and torsion springs for damping. The Drag configuration is optimized for rapid power transfer and immediate engagement, featuring puck-style discs and SFI-approved race covers for performance in demanding racing conditions. This particular kit is rated for up to 520 ft-lbs of torque and comes with a 12-month or 12,000-mile warranty. It is designed for vehicles with modified engines, such as those with Unitronic Stage 2 and Stage 2+ power levels. The accompanying flywheel is made from low-carbon, hot-rolled steel, weighing 19 lbs, and is CNC machined for precise tolerances and balance. The kit includes SFI-approved components.
