Overview

The Chevrolet Performance SP350/357 Base Crate Engine is a small-block engine designed for project vehicles. It offers 357 horsepower and significant low-rpm torque, building on the legacy of the Chevrolet 350. This engine features a new block with four-bolt mains, economical Vortec iron cylinder heads, and a roller camshaft for improved drivability and airflow.

The SP350/357 is an assembled long block that includes the oil pan, providing an affordable alternative to rebuilding. It achieves a 24-horsepower gain over the 350 HO crate engine. The package requires the addition of an ignition system, induction system, and other accessories to complete the assembly.

The Chevrolet Performance SP350/357 Base Crate Engine is engineered to deliver affordable performance for your project vehicle, carrying on the tradition of the iconic Chevrolet 350 small-block. This engine boasts a robust construction, featuring a brand-new block with four-bolt mains for enhanced strength. It is equipped with economical Vortec iron cylinder heads and a hydraulic roller camshaft, which optimizes both drivability and airflow efficiency. Producing 357 horsepower at 5500 RPM and 407 lb-ft of torque at 4000 RPM, the SP350/357 offers a substantial power increase, representing a 24-horsepower gain over the 350 HO crate engine. This assembled long block, including the oil pan, serves as a cost-effective alternative to a full engine rebuild. Buyers will need to complete the assembly by adding their preferred ignition system, induction system, and other necessary accessories. To achieve the listed horsepower and torque figures, use of the Holley 670-cfm 4-barrel carburetor (P/N 19420450) is recommended. The installation requires an intake manifold, carburetor, distributor, spark plug wires, and water pump. Additionally, a feed line from the fuel pump to the carburetor is necessary. Please note that this engine is not intended for marine applications, and the balancer and flexplate are not included in this base package.
