Spec E46 ECU Tune

The Epic Motorsports Spec E46 Tune is a specialized ECU calibration engineered for the demands of Spec E46 race cars. It meticulously refines the software to eliminate or bypass emissions controls, disable unnecessary safety nannies, and remove speed limiters, all while optimizing performance. The tune features optimized timing, Vanos mapping, DISA engagement, and fuel mapping tailored for a spec exhaust. It also includes a raised idle speed to prevent stalling with lightweight flywheels and manual transmission coding for automatic-to-manual conversions. This calibration requires the user to send their existing ECU to Epic Motorsports for reprogramming and sealing. The process typically takes up to one business week, after which the ECU is sealed with tamper-proof seals. This sealing process makes the ECU read and write protected, preventing future flashes over the Epic tune. Reversing the procedure or modifying the ECU after sealing necessitates a return to Epic Motorsports, potentially incurring additional charges. The Spec E46 Tune is strictly for off-road, race, or track-only applications and is not street-legal. Use on public roads will void any warranty. It is compatible with E46 330 models equipped with the MS43 DME. Models produced around July 2003 may use either the MS43 or MS45 ECU; visual confirmation of the MS43 DME is required. Later model 330s can be retrofitted to the MS43 DME. Options include an EWS delete for enhanced reliability and a core MS43 DME if you do not wish to send your original unit. Prior to sending your ECU, ensure your vehicle is running correctly and address any pre-existing fault codes. A list of fault codes, including names and BMW fault numbers, should be provided if normal for race cars. The ECU must be insured for $600 when shipped to Epic Motorsports, with a printed copy of the order and tracking number emailed to the seller.
