Overview

The SpeedFactory Racing D16 connecting rods are a high-performance forged component designed to optimize Vitara piston builds for Honda and Acura D16 and ZC engines. These no-notch long rods eliminate the need for block and girdle clearance modification while correcting deck height for improved compression and efficiency.

The SpeedFactory Racing D16 connecting rods are a specialized solution for turbo D16 builds, engineered to replace standard-length rods that typically require tedious block and girdle notching. By achieving proper deck height, these rods increase compression ratios, improve engine efficiency, and promote faster turbo spool times compared to standard configurations. Constructed from 2-piece forged 4340 chromoly steel, each rod is heat-treated, magnafluxed, CNC-machined, and shot-peened for high-stress reliability. The design features precision alignment dowels to maintain big-end bore size and prevent cap walk, along with bronze alloy bushings for floating wrist pins. Every set is balanced to within +/- 1 gram and includes 220,000 psi rated 3/8” ARP2000 rod bolts with included assembly lube. Compatibility includes all Honda/Acura D16 and ZC engines. Note that Vitara pistons are sold separately. Depending on your head choice, expected compression ratios are: 8.8:1 with a D16Y8 head, 8.5:1 with D16Z6/Y7/D15B heads, or 8.1:1 with D15B7/D16A6 heads. These rods are rated for 500hp applications.
