Its tall profile sphere design with peaked tangent contours fits seamlessly into your hand, increasing mechanical leverage. The substantial 685 grams (1.5 lbs) of mass work to smooth out notchy shifts by utilizing weight in motion to overcome the resistance of gate patterns and counter springs. Constructed from durable 303 stainless steel for the knob and a 6061 billet aluminum adapter, the Prolix boasts a brilliant, high gloss powder coat finish available in black. This finish is achieved through a meticulous multi-stage powder coating process, starting with a super smooth surface finish from CNC machining, followed by gentle glass beading for powder adhesion, and finally baking to cure a durable, smooth coating. The knob's 2-inch (51mm) diameter and sphere shape are designed to comfortably accommodate both angled overhand and overhand shifting positions, fitting a wide range of hand sizes. This shift knob is counterbored to accommodate reverse lockouts and shift boot retainers, ensuring a clean installation with an OEM fit and finish. The M12x1.25mm thread pitch ensures compatibility with many manual transmission vehicles. Optional CNC machined shift gate engraving is available for a personalized aesthetic.
