The Spoon 10000-FK8-C00 is a meticulously blue-printed engine assembly designed for Honda K20C1 engines. This complete engine package is constructed using only brand-new, genuine Honda parts. Before assembly, Spoon ensures all metal burrs are removed from the cylinder block and cylinder head to prevent stress concentration and potential engine damage from debris. A key aspect of this engine build is its extreme focus on internal component balancing. The piston, piston pin, and connecting rod in all moving parts are weighed and balanced to within a 0.02g tolerance for each cylinder. Considering the total moving part weight is approximately 1,100g for the K20C engine, this translates to managing weight differences within an exceptional 0.002% – a tolerance 100 times tighter than conventional Honda Type R engines. This precise weight management significantly reduces minute vibrations, allowing the engine to rev more smoothly and contributing to an enhanced driving feel that transcends numerical power figures. Furthermore, Spoon emphasizes critical clearance management, a process vital for engines combining materials like aluminum and steel. Due to their differing coefficients of thermal expansion, clearances can fluctuate with temperature.
